Do you remember seeing the depot in Beckville? Many of us will remember walking across the tracks going to and from the high school. The depot which has since been destroyed was located across from Adams Oil where the gazeebo now sits.

Miss Jane Library and Museum is in need of donations to repair the beams in the ceiling of her building. This will cost approximately $10,000 dollars, at this time they have $5,000 dollars. Graveside services for Luther Brightwell, 91, of Beckville, were held at 10 a.m. Dec. 23, 2003 in Connor Cemetery in Panola County. Arrangements were under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home.

The Rev. Danny Stanley officiated and expressed Luther lived a life of "...simplicity, consistency, and as a farmer..."
